I am a computational biologist with vast experience in high-throughput data analysis of single-cell (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, 10X visium spatial transcriptome) as well as bulk multi-OMICS profiles (RNA-seq [in-house,TCGA,GEO etc.], ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, fastGRO) derived from human tissues as well as cell lines. My recent work on meta-analysis of single-cell transcriptome profiles of Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) has discovered novel biomarkers associated with chemoresistance in TNBC. I have further applied machine learning technique and build a model that can predict response to chemotherapy upfront in TNBC.
I have filed patent (UK patent: 2117299.4) for these biomarkers and now in a process of clinical validation which is require for multi-gene test development for guiding chemotherapy treatment in TNBC.
My research contribution has been acclaimed by several international journals (Molecular and Cellular Biology 2021, Frontiers in oncology 2020, Scientific reports 2019, Oncotarget 2019) including very high impact journals Nature Cell Biology (accepted for publication), EMBO Molecular Medicine (Under revision).
Recently I have been awarded as early career researcher under InnovateUK ICURe and Lean Launch Programme program for market validation of my research innovation. Additionally, I have written several fellowship (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships, EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships, 1851 Royal Commission Research Fellowship) as well as research grants (CRUK Programme Foundation Award, MRC Case for Support, Breast Cancer Now).
Furthermore, I am also engaged in experimental workflow designing, data analysis, interpretation of key findings, preparing high quality publication figures, writing a manuscripts of joint research projects with eminent institution such as The Institute of Cancer Research, London; The University of Edinburgh, Salk Institute for Biological Studies, USA. Additionally, I am also providing necessary data analysis support to other labs here at Queens University including supervision to PhD students, Master students on their research projects.
